Xcalibre, the specialist hydraulic tools and powerpack designer and manufacturer, is breaking new ground with an exclusive link-up with Danish-based Lifton Breakers AS.

The deal sees Coventry-based Xcalibre become the UK sole distributor of Lifton powerpacks and breakers, including some of the most technically advanced hand-held hydraulic breakers and powerpacks in the world.

In return Lifton Breakers AS are selling Xcalibre's specialist range of hydraulic drilling equipment in Europe and world wide.

Xcalibre sales director Shayne Major explained:

"This deal enables us to use our skills as specialists in the drilling world within a more general market while at the same time enabling Lifton Breakers AS to expand into the niche sectors that their own equipment does not cover.

"As sole distributors of the Lifton Breakers AS range, we have invested time and money to ensure that we can not only sell their wide range of products across a number of industries but that we can also provide a spares and maintenance service which is second to none."

Lifton's handheld breakers range from 12 -31 kg and come with a patented vibration dampening handle which effectively eliminates three quarters of the vibrations which can cause white finger.

They manage to more than meet Europe's latest environmental and safety standards while retaining high performance levels and a number of other economic advantages.

Their LH 21 E, for example, achieves a blow energy of 85 joules with vibration levels down to just 5.3/134 m/s2/ db/HA. Operators can therefore work safely and in more comfort for longer - saving on down time and speeding work rates.

Mr Major said:

"The LH 21 E is one of eight in the Lifton hand held breakers range. They all demonstrate high standards of design and safety coupled with high performance abilities.

"Given the many benefits of the range it is no surprise that many major utilities, including British Telecom and KTAS, the national Danish telephone company, as well as major construction companies and hire shops are already using Lifton Breakers AS equipment."

All Lifton handheld hydraulic breakers are significantly more powerful than any electric, petrol of pneumatic powered tool in the same weightclass.

Coupled with Lifton powerpacks or most other hydraulic power sources they are remarkably portable and flexible and they are easily used and compatible with other manufacturers' powerpacks.

Added to which, high quality raw materials in each breaker combined with oil in all moving parts mean they have longer life expectancies and lower maintenance costs than their electric, petrol or pneumatic equivalents.
