SHORTLAND HORNE PRESS RELEASE
Shortland Horne Sells Former BBC Radio SiteCoventry estate agent and commercial property surveyor Shortland
Horne had to be on the right wavelength to complete a unique city centre sale.
The firm has sold the former BBC Coventry and Warwickshire
radio headquarters in Warwick Road to a local investment company, which has agreed a
20-year lease with Healthcall plc.
THE FORMER BBC COVENTRY & WARWICKSHIRE
RADIO BUILDING
Healthcall, which operates an out-of-hours GP
deputising service, will also be offering physiotherapy and optical services when it moves
into the 8,347 sq ft building from its Queens Road base.
Shortland Hornes senior commercial surveyor Paul
Beesley said:
"Because of the way the building was laid out with a
newsroom and separate studios meant we had to find exactly the right client.
"Anyone who wanted to use the whole building as
general office would have been faced with considerable costs reconverting the property.
New tenants Healthcall, however, will use the former studios as consulting room and the
news floor as their control room.
"The BBC had fitted out the building to the highest
standard and it couldnt be more perfect for Healthcall. Fortunately our local
knowledge allowed us to put the purchaser and building together."
The investment company has paid the asking price of
£450,000 for the three storey, Georgian-fronted property, which comes with 16 car parking
spaces.
The BBC has relocated to new state-of-the-art studios in
the city centre.
Shortland Horne was joint agent with Lambert Smith Hampton.
