Split Show For Town And Country Festival
This
year’s Town and Country Festival will see the Stoneleigh showground
divided into four, each with its own theme
Started
last year as an experimental theme, the idea has been expanded and the
huge site will be split up, each with its own flavour.
And
a dozen CWN readers will win tickets to the show, running over the
August Bank Holiday, in our daily competition.
There
will be:
Live
World with Grand Ring action, live bands, a circus, TV
presenters, Thomas The Tank Engine and Thunderbirds in the Modellers
Hall;
Motor
World with classic vehicles including the Jaguar RI Formula One
Show Car, a 44-tonne Churchill Tank, a four-wheel drive course and
miles of military vehicles;
Leisure
World will have a shopping pavillion and a display of arts and
crafts, a Food Hall and the chance of a helicopter ride;
Countryside
World has the sights and sounds of the country – and includes
ferret racing.
There
will be TV personalities such as Michaela Strachan and the puppet
Mopatop from Children’s ITV.
An
RASE spokesman said:
“The
Town and Country Festival, created for the people of Coventry, the
Midlands and Heart of England is being held on August Bank Holiday
weekend and brings together the very Spirit of the Midlands in an
unforgettable, exciting and enjoyable day out for all the family.
“Organised
by the RASE, the Festival is the size of 50 football pitches,
attracts enough visitors to fill Wembley Stadium twice and has a
sufficient number of shops to fill Merry Hill shopping centre three
times.
“The
Town and Country Festival really does have something for
everybody.”
Keep
an eye on the CWN competition page as we will be giving away six pairs
of tickets over the next three weeks. CWN
