Coventrys oldest estate agents is currently the areas fastest
growing after purchasing a rival firm and appointing five new partners in the space of a
month.
Loveitts, which was established in 1843, last month purchased Rugby-based Clarkson
Estate Agents, a move which senior partner Martin Greaves believes will make a huge
difference to the company.
He said:
"We previously had an outlet on Church Street in Rugby but for various different
reasons during the recession we were forced to close it and move out.
"When the opportunity arose about a month ago to buy Clarkson Estate Agents off
Graham Clarkson we jumped at the chance because it gives us coverage in that area which is
vital.
"Graham Clarkson has been retained as a consultant and the added bonus is that we
have acquired one of the prime positions on estate agents row in Rugby."
Loveitts then decided to capitalise on their expansion with the announcement of five
new partners at the firm, something Greaves admits was long overdue.
He said:
"We have only appointed one new partner in the last 15 or 20 years so we have
really grasped the nettle and given five members of staff the opportunity to be a real
part of this companys future.
"We have been going for 150 years now and I would say we are the biggest
independent in the area."
The company was based in Hertford Street before bombing during the war forced them out
of the premises, and after a brief interval purchased their current outlet on Warwick Row
in 1950.
True to the companys background even this building has historical significance.
