A Leamington inventor
has come up with a new secure way to keep bicycles safe and
tidy.
Fed
up with having nowhere to put his bicycle except attaching it to
a plastic drainpipe, Nicolas Davies came up with a lock made of
4mm thick steel.
It can be bolted to the
ground or concreted in. Mr Davies is now hoping to be able to
sell these to cyclists with similar problems.
He said that the
Interlock device is built so a cycle lock can be fitted to it.
Because it is securely
attached to the ground and would involve more work for a thief
to undo it, it will act as a secure deterrent against crime.
Mr
Davies said:
“The
more time it takes to get the cycle out, the more risk a thief
has to take, and they don’t like that.
"This
lock also keeps your cycle neat and tidy at all times.”
Mr
Davies has come up with several different models, including one
that can be wall-mounted, and one that takes two cycles.
He
said he is currently looking for sponsorship to get the
Interlock manufactured and marketed. More information from him
