Imaging Experts Win Award
Local
scientific imaging experts, Improvision, have won an award for
their technology transfer work with the University of Warwick.
The
University of Warwick Science Park based company has been
awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the Teaching Company
Scheme (TCS).
The
Teaching Company Scheme (TCS) is a long established UK
government initiative encouraging collaboration between UK
universities and companies, to promote the transfer of
technology and know-how from the academic sector to industry.
US-owned
Improvision have been involved with TCS since 1996. They
have worked closely with the University of Warwick Computer
Science Department to develop new and highly advanced software
for deconvolution and 3D rendering.
Andrew
Waterfall of Improvision said:
"We
are delighted to have received a Certificate of Excellence
from the TCS programme. I'm very pleased to report that the
research carried out by our TCS Associates and then
commercialised by Improvision has been given the highest
possible grading by the UK TCS grading panel.
"This
fruitful relationship has resulted in our world class products
for scientific imaging, Openlab and Volocity."
