Coventry’s first organic
shop will be throwing open its doors to customers this weekend as a
home delivery service finds a permanent base.
Down To Earth will open in
Earlsdon Street, Earlsdon selling all kinds of organic goods.
It’s being set up by Suzanne
Bristow, who has been running a fruit and vegetable box scheme in the
city for a year.
After the success of
delivering to people’s doors, Suzanne has gone one better and found
an empty shop to open for trade.
The shop will sell as much
local organic food as possible, including fruit, vegetables, bread,
pastries, cake, meat and fish.
It will also offer natural and
herbal remedies, and toiletries.
Suzanne said she is hoping to
get off to a good start, and is offering organic nibbles when the shop
opens on Saturday.
She said:
“I endeavour to supply any
products that people would like and hope to provide a real service.
“I’ve had a fantastic
reaction from people in Earlsdon who have said that they have been
waiting for this to happen. They have been chatting to me as I have
been outside painting and doing things to the shop.”
The
shop can be found at the top of Earlsdon Street, at the junction with
Arden Street.
