Coventry-based
metal specialists DCM have given Bedworth Leisure Centre coach Stuart Gealy his largest
push yet towards raising more than £2,500 for charity on a marathon bike ride across
China.
In June, Stuart, 40, from Church Lane, Weddington, will be cycling 435 kms from
the Great Wall of China to Tiananmen Square in aid of Mencap, raising a minimum of £2,500
for Mencap, the UK charity for people with learning difficulties.
His campaign was boosted when sheet metal and laser cutting experts DCM, from Bayton
Road, Exhall, agreed to support his ride with a £250 donation.
DCM managing director Nigel Stokes said:
"Stuart will be putting a tremendous effort into this event to help adults and
children with learning disabilities. We were delighted to be able to help and wish him
well on his ride."
Stuart said:
"I was overwhelmed by the generosity of this company. I am now confident that I
can raise at least £2,500 but I hope that the final total will be much more. The money
will be used by Mencap to help provide vital services for those with learning disabilities
and to extend their family and advisory services."
