Engineering firms in Coventry
and Warwickshire are being offered a chance to improve their staff’s
skills after a training company based in the city won European funding
for the project.
“The Changing Industry”
scheme is being run for small and medium-sized companies in the are to
help them get to grips with the changing market place.
Any kind of training is on
offer from CWT, which is based in St Nicholas Street, Radford.
The project, which is
scheduled to last 18 months, has proved a major success within its
first month, as firms in the area have rushed to snap up course.
Sales and Marketing Executive
Jane Bush said the companies are visited to see what sort of training
needs they might need.
They are also given help to
get them through the paperwork that is required as part of the
European funding.
She said:
“We provide any kind of
training. It could computer,-based, for management or vocational, as
long as the company is in engineering. Some of the training is
linked to NVQs.”
