A Coventry company which
makes specialist interiors for the motor industry is gearing
itself up to compete with the very best in car design.
Anderson
Ryan has installed a new engineering centre so it can get
involved with running entire projects for car manufacturers.
The firm currently makes
specialist leather interiors such as seat and dashboard finishes
for many of the top-of-the-range producers.
But they have now
installed hi-tech facilities to allow the company to take on
entire projects.
CAD facilities are being
installed and the long-term goal is to get the company to a
point where entire car design projects can be run at the firm’s
base in Canley Road, Canley.
Peter Edwards,
engineering manager, said:
“We know that to
progress in the competitive automotive market we need to be
more diversified.
“Rather than just
being trim specialists we need to move into production with
project management.”
The move takes the
company, founded 19 years ago by former Jaguar apprentices Dave
Anderson and Kevin Ryan to a new part of the market.
Mr Anderson said:
“We’ve been
through a learning curve and have taken the business to a
certain level. Because we are on the world stage we want to
move on from that point.
“We’ve always
reinvested in the company and that means we can move on.”
