Police based in the new Tile
Hill sector house in Coventry will be knocking on doors this weekend
to get to know members of the community.
They will be offering crime
prevention and security advice to people in the Jardine Crescent area
on Saturday and Sunday.
The base in Tile Hill Lane was
opened yesterday to give officers a chance to get closer to their
community.
Sgt Judith Grubb said her team
aimed to visit around 350 households.
She added the crime reduction
officer PC John Nicholson, and Elaine Hale, the Neighbourhood Watch
support officer will also be in the area to give advice.
Members of the fire service
are also expected to join to tours on Saturday afternoon to give
residents fire safety tips.
Sgt Grubb said:
“It
will be a good opportunity for people to consult us and share any
concerns about the neighbourhood that they might have.”
