News On The Queues - Beware Of The Show
Beware the roads of
mid-Warwickshire next week, as Royal Show organisers and emergency
services get ready to deal with up to 200,000 visitors.
The annual event
brings chaos to roads around Kenilworth, Leamington and southern
Coventry and police say people should plan their journey well in
advance.
Vehicles are directed
to approach the area from the advertised radial routes that are
designed to get traffic in to and out of the show with the least
delay.
Police say it is
vital that people follow the route advice and signs and cooperate with
the officers who are directing the traffic.
And they say local
drivers who are not visiting the show (running Monday to Thursday at
the NAC showground) should either allow more time or use alternative
routes.
Insp George Browning
of Warwickshire Police Traffic department said:
“While we do
everything we can to minimise inconvenience, we ask everyone to
adopt a sensible approach throughout the Royal Show period and plan
their journeys carefully.
“A number of
options are possible, including varying or extending journey times,
using an alternative route or using public transport.
“Above all,
please be patient and leave yourself plenty of time.”
