New Year MBE For Warwickshire Special Constable
A north Warwickshire special constable
has been recognised in the New Year Honours list for his commitment to
community policing.
George Haynes, aged 60, receives an MBE
for dedicated service to the community.
Mr Haynes, from Dordon, joined the
Special Constabulary in 1975 and has served for 24 years in the north
Warwickshire town of Atherstone.
He is well respected for his
outstanding enthusiasm to community policing and has worked tirelessly
in support of specials working alongside regular officers.
In February 1996 Mr Haynes was
appointed Acting Area Officer.
In addition to his work as a special
constable, Mr Haynes has been an active member of the St John
Ambulance for 22 years.
During this time he has carried out
charitable work at public events and organised many pleasure outings
for local elderly people.
Acting Chief Constable of Warwickshire,
Mr Mick Brewer, congratulated Mr Haynes on his award.
Mr Brewer said:
"He has worked tirelessly for
many years with great commitment and dedication.
"He is well respected and has
always been a great supporter of community policing and his local
community in general."
