Woman Attacked In Coventry

The incident happened as the woman was walking from Stoney Stanton Road along a footpath leading to the entrance of Redhouse Park at about 1pm.

A man approached and grabbed her. He then tried to indecently assault her before she managed to escape.

The man was Asian, aged about 50 years old, about 5ft10in tall, of stocky build, and had a full head of black hair which was brushed back.

He was wearing a three-quarter-length navy blue Anorak style coat, grey or black trousers and black shoes.

The victim was badly shaken following the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact officers at Stoney Stanton Road police station on 0845 113 5000.

A man has subsequently been arrested in connection with the incident and was today in custody and due to be interviewed by police.
