Violent Robbery In Coundon

A 42 year old Coventry man was violently robbed on Sunday evening in Coundon.

The attack took place at around 8.20pm in Holyhead Road in the Coundon area of Coventry.

The victim was knocked to the floor by a man who came out from behind a tree in Holyhead Road and hit him on the head.

The attacker then searched his pockets and stole an international phone card worth £3 and some personal items before escaping.

The victim suffered a cut to the back of his head, bruising and swelling to his left eye and cuts to his knuckles and knees.

The offender is described as being white aged about 18, 6ft tall with short bleached blond hair and wearing a brown short sleeve shirt.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about the attack, which they are treating as a racially aggravated incident, to contact police on 0845 113 5000 and ask for police at Little Park Street.
