Woman Murdered In
Longford
Police have launched a murder inquiry
following the discovery of the body of a 38 year old woman in the
Longford area of Coventry.
The grim discovery was made when an
ambulance was called to the house in Marlwood Close at 12.20pm
yesterday.
A post mortem has revealed that the
woman died as a result of peritonitis, through injuries sustained
to her stomach and chest.
The woman has now been named as
Ellen Mary Lynch, a mother of four who lived on her own.
DCI Bob Bird at Stoney Stanton
police station is appealing for people to come forward,
particularly anyone who saw a man and woman get out of a taxi in
Marlwood Close on the evening of Sunday 12 August.
He would also like to hear from any
taxi drivers who have dropped off a couple in that road at that
time.
An ambulance was called to a house
in Marlwood Close following a call from a phone box on the corner
of Pettitor Crescent and Deedmore Road at around 12.20pm on
Monday.
It is believed a distressed man
flagged down a passing motorist and said he needed an ambulance.
Police are appealing for this motorist or the distressed man to
contact them.
