Sex Attack On
Coventry Woman
A 27 year old woman has suffered a
serious sexual assault in the Bell Green area of Coventry.
The incident took place Sunday 22
July between 3 and 3.30am close to Clarke Street in Bell Green.
The woman had just taken a taxi to
the area. As she walked up the road a man suddenly grabbed her
from behind, dragged her into an alleyway and committed the
serious sexual assault.
The victim then heard footsteps and
she believes that the offender heard them too as he suddenly made
off.
The attacker is described as a
white male, 6ft tall, well built with short cropped blond or light
brown hair. He had a few days stubble on his face. He
spoke with a strong northern, possibly Manchester, accent and was
wearing a green round necked short sleeved shirt and light brown
trousers.
WDC Sharon Fox said:
"This was an extremely nasty
attack on this woman who is obviously extremely shocked and
tearful after her ordeal. We would like to talk to the private
hire driver who dropped the victim off as he might have vital
information which could help us to track down the attacker.
"The woman screamed loudly
and we are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything
suspicious or has any information at all that could help.
"At the present time, we are
keeping an open mind as to whether this incident is connected to
other recent assaults in the city."
Anyone who can help is urged to
contact the police on 024 7653 9485 or the Crimestoppers
confidential hotline 0800 555 111. |
