Elderly Man Dies After Car Crash

A 65 year old man has died following a car accident ten days ago.

The crash occurred on Broad Lane in Coventry at about 8pm on Friday 27 April when John Vertigan was driving a Vauxhall Astra and was in collision with a 24 year old man driving a Volkswagen Polo.

The driver of the Polo provided a positive breath test and was arrested at the scene.

John Vertigan was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital in a critical condition and died yesterday.

It appears that the Volkswagen Polo was travelling along Broad Lane when it was in collision with the Astra as it attempted to turn.
