Man Assaulted At
Coventry Petrol Station
A
19 year old Coventry man was assaulted while he was queuing at a
petrol station in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The
attack took place at 1.20am at The Butts service station in Spon
End, Coventry.
The
victim was waiting in the queue at the night service hatch, when
he became involved in a minor disagreement with a woman also in
the queue.
After
this a man, who it is thought may have been with the woman
attacked the 19 year old with his fists and feet, before the man
and woman left the service station.
The
victim was treated at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital. He
suffered a cut to the inside of his mouth requiring five stitches
and a cut to the top of his ear.
The
attacker is described as a white male, aged 19-22. He was about
5ft 8in and of medium build with short dark cropped hair. He was
clean shaven and wearing casual clothing. He had a local accent.
The
woman who it is believed was with him was white, aged 17-19, 5ft
4in, with shoulder length dark blonde straight hair and dark
clothing.

Clare Phillips from Little Park Street CID has asked for anyone
who saw the attack to come forward:
"It
is believed there were a number of taxis parked on the forecourt
at the time of the assault and we are appealing for anyone,
particularly the taxi drivers who may have seen the incident to
contact us on 024 7653 9010."
