Coventry Man Killed In Road Accident

A Coventry man was killed yesterday after he was hit by a car which mounted a pavement in a city street.

The 74-year-old was in the collision in Rotherham Road, Holbrooks, at 10.20am

He suffered head and chest injuries in the accident and was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital, where he was certified dead.

The 81-year-old driver of the car, a Renault Clio, was not injured in the incident. Police have appealed for witnesses to contact 024 7653 9020.
