Coventry Woman Killed In Car Crash

A Coventry woman died in a crash on a dual carriageway yesterday after her car collided with a lorry.

Laura Lee Foulkes, aged 23, of Wickham Close, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash on the A45 at 8.35am.

She was heading out of the city and was driving through Ryton when the accident happened at the junction with the B4029.

A Scania lorry had pulled out of the minor road to the central waiting area in the middle of the carriageway.

As it waited for the traffic to clear it so it could pull out, the lorry was hit in the rear by the VW Polo being driven by Ms Foulkes.

The driver of the lorry, a 46-year-old man from Northamptonshire, was uninjured but very shaken.
