CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Coventry Woman
Attacked By Car Thieves
Two
robbers followed a Coventry woman as she drove home and attacked
her on her drive before stealing her car.
The
26-year-old was driving down Binley Road yesterday at 9pm in her
black Ford Puma when she noticed a blue Metro was following her.
As
she arrived at her house on the Clifford Bridge Road estate the
Metro pulled up and a man got out.
He
approached her and grabbed her car keys.
A
struggle broke out before the man got into the car and started the
engine. The victim tried to attract attention by sounding the car
horn.
The
man hit the woman several times on the back of the neck before an
accomplice joined him and threw the woman away from the car.
He
threw her to the ground and the pair drove off in her car,
registration X841PBD. They left the Metro, registration K599XDA,
which had been stolen from Birmingham.
The
men are both black. One is in his early 20s, skinny build and has
short black hair. He was clean shaven and wore a dark jacket with
turquoise patches on the chest and blue jeans.
The
other is about 5ft 8ins, with short dark hair, dark jeans and
brown sandy-coloured camouflage jacket.
The
woman suffered a sore neck in the attack and was extremely upset
by her ordeal, but did not need hospital treatment.
