Motorcyclist Floored

A
motorcyclist was badly injured and suffered broken bones after
being hit by a van in Coventry during yesterday evening’s rush
hour.
The
16-year-old suffered a broken kneecap and a broken thumb following
the incident just after 5pm in Allesley Old Road at its junction
with Duke Street in Chapelfields.
A
VW van pulled out of Duke Street to turn right onto the Allesley
Old Road and was in collision with a 50cc motorcycle travelling
along Allesley Old Road.
The
16-year-old motorcyclist, from Allesley, was detained overnight at
Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital for treatment.
The
31-year-old male van driver, who comes from Coundon, Coventry was
uninjured.
Police
at the Traffic Unit in Coventry are appealing for witnesses.
