Woman Shoved Into Wall By Robber

A woman struck her face on a brick wall after she was shoved to the ground by a thief who snatched her designer handbag.

The 55-year-old was outside her house in The Oaks, Bedworth at 1.30pm yesterday when she was attacked from behind.

She had just got out of her car, being driven by her husband, and was about to go indoors when she was set upon.

A black man came up behind her and shoved her hard in the back. The woman fell forwards and struck her head on the brick wall of the house.

The man wrenched her Chanel handbag from her and made off. The black leather bag had a Gucci wallet in it and £40 in cash.

The attacker got into a blue Metro, which was waiting further down the street. The car reversed the whole length of the road and drove off.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. The attacker is 5ft 11ins, well-built, in his mid-20s and was wearing a multi-coloured woollen hat.

The victim was treated for cuts and bruises and was said to be “extremely shaken” by her ordeal.
