Car Chase Ends With Sting In Tail

A Coventry teenager is in police custody after a 45-minute car chase went through three towns early this morning.

The 20-year-old was spotted by police in Ansley Common at 12.35am and was ordered to stop his car.

But instead he drove off, and police chased it through Atherstone, and Nuneaton before finally throwing a stinger in its path in Bedworth.

A helicopter was called in to follow the vehicle during the pursuit. During the chase the car hit the pursuing police car.

The 18-year-old was taken into police custody after being arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified and causing criminal damage to a police car.
