Teenager Fights Off
City Sex Attacker
A
Coventry teenager was dragged away from the street by a man who
tried to attack her as she left a city nightclub yesterday.
The
17-year-old had left the Colosseum nightclub in Primrose Hill
Street and was walking to McGuigans bar at the junction with
Swanswell Street when she was set on at 1.45am.
The
girl had seen two black cabs outside the bar and wanted to get one
to take her home.
But
as she neared them she was grabbed from behind by a man who
dragged her of fthe streets.
The
teenager managed to struggle free and ran away to safety.
The
attacker is white, in his 20s and medium build. He has dark brown
hair with a centre parting and wore a cream jacket and dark
trousers.
The
victim did not suffer any injuries but was left very shaken by the
incident.
A
police spokesman called for help in finding the offender. He said:
“The
offences could have had far more serious consequences. There had
to have been a number of people in Swanswell Street and Primrose
Hill Street making their way home after visiting local
nightclubs.”
He
urged any witnesses, particularly the two black cab drivers, to
ring officers on 024 7653 9010.
