Man Killed As Car
Collides With Lorry
A
man died this morning after the car he was driving collided with a
lorry.
The
accident happened at 11.30am on the A46 about a quarter of a
mile from the junction with Alcester Road, which leads into
Stratford town centre.
The
man, who has not yet been identified, was driving his Rover 214 towards Alcester when the collision took place.
Police
say the man died from his injuries at the scene. Witness should
call traffic police on 01926 415000.
UPDATE:
The
man has been named as Mark Aldridge, aged 35, from Treville Close,
Redditch.
The
driver of the Foden 32-tonne four axle lorry, a 53-year-old man
from Shepshed in Leicestershire was taken to Warwick Hospital with
a suspected broken collar bone.
Police
appealed for a driver of an articulated flat-bed lorry carrying
scaffolding to come forward.
The
lorry was seen driving towards Alcester at the same time and could
be a vital witness. Witnesses should contact PC Kevin Mann.
