Teenagers Hold Up
Coventry Video Store
Two
youths aged about 15 pointed a gun at a cashier in a Coventry
video shop and demanded money last night.
The
pair entered Choices video store in Jubilee Crescent, Radford and
started looking at the shelves at 8.30pm.
When
a customer left the shop they went to the counter to buy a bar of
chocolate. But one of the youths then produced a gun from his coat
and pointed it at the assistant.
The
27-year-old cashier from Coventry was told to hand money over from
the till. Instead she pressed the panic button and the alarm
sounded.
The
two youths fled empty handed. The assistant was left very shaken
but uninjured.
Police
today appealed for help in tracing the youths and the gun, which
was described as “greenish” in colour.
One
is black, or mixed race, thin and 5ft 11ins. He wore a dark cap or
hood, a dark puffa-style jacket and had a dark scarf covering his
face.
His
accomplice, who is described as looking “very young” is white,
5ft 4ins, slim, and was also wearing a dark cap or hood. He had a
brown and beige scarf round his face and was wearing a
light-coloured jacket.
Anyone
who saw the pair either side of the attack, or any customers who
saw them in the shop, should call police on 024 7653 9020.
