Coventry Pensioner
Attacked In Her Home
An
86-year-old Coventry woman was attacked in her home as she
grappled with two men who had bluffed their way in.
Police
today appealed for help in catching the crooks, who inflicted
severe bruising, cuts and shock on their victim.
The
pair, who are white and in their late teens or early 20s, knocked
on the woman’s door in Courtland Avenue, Coundon at 4pm
yesterday.
They
told her they were from the water board and went into the house.
One
man went into the kitchen, while the other went upstairs.
Suspicious,
the pensioner followed him and was attacked at the top of the
stairs.
The
man grabbed her and there was a struggle as he tried to force her
to the ground and hold her there.
She
suffered severe bruising, a cut to the wrist and was left deeply
shocked by the incident.
The
men escaped, taking her handbag containing £45 in cash. Both of them
wore woolly hats. Any witnesses should call 024 7653 9010.
