Motorist Bounces Off
Bonnet As Car Is Stolen
A
motorist was hurled across his bonnet as he tried to stop a thief
stealing his car last night.
The
man had left the engine of his red Vauxhall Astra running last
night in Portland Street, Leamington at 9.30pm.
He
looked around and saw that a man was sitting inside. He rushed
back to the car but it was driven off.
The
owner was sent flying across the bonnet and landed in the road. He
suffered cuts and bruises but did not need hospital treatment.
About
half an hour the car was found at the Sainsbury’s car park in
Kenilworth.
A
33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking of
vehicle, driving while disqualified, driving with excess alcohol
and driving without insurance.
He
was bailed by police pending further enquiries.
