CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Shot Fired In Pub
Car Park
Police
are appealing for witnesses after a gun was fired at a man in a
Coventry pub car park.
The
man had just parked at The Cheylesmore in Daventry Road on Sunday
at 8pm when a shot was fired in his direction.
Three
men pulled up in a stolen green Mitsubishi Shogun. The man sitting
in the front passenger seat loosed off a shot through the open
window.
The
man was not hit by a bullet and no-one else was in the car park at
the time.
Police
later found the car, which had been stolen in Warwickshire,
abandoned in Spring Close, Hillfields.
They
are mystified as to the reason for the attack and are appealing
for any witnesses who saw the incident or the men before or after
the shooting to come forward.
A
spokesman said:
“The
motive for the shot being fired is unclear. The man who had just
got of his car had not exchanged any words with the three men in
the Shogun.
“It
is unclear what type of firearm was used.”
Anyone
with information should call Fletchampstead police station on 024
7653 9030.
