Post Office Robbed
At Gun Point
A
sub-postmistress was bound and hit unconscious by armed robbers
who raided her safe yesterday.
The
woman, in her mid-30s, was alone in the rear of the post office in
Long Street, Dordon, when she was approached by two men at 5.40pm.
Both
were wearing balaclavas or ski-masks and baseball caps.
They
pointed a hand gun at her and hit her on the head. They bound her
and forced her at gun point to hand over the keys to the safe.
She
was then knocked unconscious. When she came round the men had gone
and she managed to raise the alarm with neighbours, who freed her.
She
was treated at the George Eliot Hospital and was later released.
Post
office bosses were today trying to work out what had been taken by
the men. The man with the gun is either mixed race or Asian, about
6ft and stocky build.
He
was wearing a dark coloured woollen jumper and spoke with a gruff
voice.
His
accomplice is smaller, wore a jumper and a dark grey hooded top.
Witnesses should contact Bedworth CID on 01926 415000.
