Drugs Warning After
Heroin User Dies
Drug
users are being warned to be on their guard after a woman was
found dead in a Hillfields house yesterday.
The
18-year-old, a known heroin user, was discovered at 8am.
A
post-mortem examination has been carried out and police are
awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
DCI
John Larkin warned other drug users in the city to be on their
guard as there is a possibility that a purer form of heroin is
available.
He
said:
“We
have launched a full investigation but while we are awaiting the
results of toxicology tests we would like to warn other users
about the dangers of heroin use.
“It
may be that this young woman’s death was caused by a purer
form of heroin and we would other users to be on their guard.”
He
added the drugs paraphernalia was found in the woman’s house,
where she lived alone. Her identity his not being released until
all her close relatives have been informed.
