CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Incident Room Set Up
As Driver Hunt Grows
Police
in Warwickshire are launching a major investigation into the death
of a motorcyclist who was killed on the M40 on Monday.
Detectives
are joining the hunt for the lorry involved in the crash that
killed Ronald Cobbledick, aged 43, from Waterfoot in Rossendale,
Lancashire.
An
incident room has been set up and uniformed officers will return
to the area exactly a week after the crash, on Monday morning to
talk to drivers of large vehicles at the Barnhill Services.
Mr
Cobbledick died after he was struck while riding on the M40
southbound, just before junction 16.
Accident
posters are to be put up to try and find any other witnesses to
what has been described by police as a “very serious
incident”.
It
is thought that a lorry driver struck Mr Cobbledick’s Piaggio
motor scooter, but did not stop.
Anyone
who saw anything is being urged to contact police on 01926 415257.
