Hunt On For Rugby Sex
Attacker
A bogus meter reader armed
with a knife sexually assaulted a Rugby woman after bluffing his
way into her house.
The man knocked on the
door at the house in Jubilee Road, Rugby on 26 October at 1pm.
He told the 29-year-old
woman who opened it that he had come to read her meter. He was
polite, well spoken and had a credit card-sized identity badge.
Once inside the house the
man pushed the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
He was carrying a knife,
and during the attack the woman suffered several minor injuries
that did not require hospital treatment.
The victim later told
detectives that the attack lasted 20 minutes. The man made threats
to her, but did not rape her.
He escaped through the
back door at about 1.20pm and went into the service road area
behind the houses.
Detectives today issued an
artist’s impression of the man to encourage the public to help
track him down.
DS Mick Reardon said:
“This was an extremely
unusual and disturbing incident and we are anxious to speak to
anyone who can help us find the person responsible.”
Anyone who was in the
Jubilee Road, Lawford Road or New Bilton area last Thursday
lunchtime is being urged to think if they can remember seeing
anyone fitting the attacker’s description.
He is white, in his late
20s or early 30s, and is about 6ft tall with broad shoulders, slim
build and mousy brown untidy hair.
He was wearing dark blue
polyester trousers and a sweatshirt with an identity badge.
