Shop Owner Attacked By Robbers

Three attackers beat a Coventry shop owner with an iron and threatened him with a knife before stealing his till and takings.

The offenders went into Meadow Mini Market in Meadow Street, Spon End at 7.55pm on Saturday.

They hit the 40-year-old shop owner with an iron bar and then made threats.

The trio grabbed the till, worth £700, and made off with £600 cash.

The man suffered bruising, swelling and cuts to his face and body in the attack.

All three offenders were about 5ft 11ins and skinny. The first, who had the iron bar, was wearing a dark jacket, a black balaclava and gloves.

The second man also had a black balaclava, a brown coat and black jogging bottoms. He was carrying a knife.

The third man is Asian and was wearing a black leather jacket.
