Gun-Wielding Robbers
Tie Up Club Steward
Masked
raiders armed with a gun tied a steward of a Rugby social club up before stealing money early yesterday.
The
four men, all wearing ski masks, went into the CIU Social Club in
Coventry Road, Pailton shortly after midnight.
One
man pointed a revolver-type gun at the head of the relief steward,
who was in the building on his own.
The
other men tied and gagged him and they put him in the cellar.
The
attackers then took a large sum of money and escaped in the
victim’s car, a green Daewoo Lanof registered S795BWK. The car
has still not been found.
Eventually
the steward managed to free himself and raise the alarm.
Police
are keen to speak to any witnesses, particularly a middle-aged
white man with short ginger hair who came to the club at 11.45pm.
He was wearing a suit, but no tie.
Anyone
with information should call Rugby CID on 01926 415000.
