Player Arrested
After Pitch 'Assault'
A
Coventry footballer has been arrested following an alleged assault
on a Leamington soccer pitch, which saw another player’s nose
being broken.
The
incident took place at one of the football pitches at Newbold
Comyn Leisure Centre yesterday at 10.30am in a game between
Westlea Wanderers and Coundon FC.
The
victim, aged 28, suffered the injuries after an alleged
head-butting incident.
A
26-year-old player from the Coventry team was arrested in the car
park after the game.
He
was taken to Leamington police station and release on bail pending
further inquiries.
