[16 OCT 00] CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Service Station Held Up By Robbers

Police are hunting two men who held up a service station on the A45 at gun point yesterday.

They approached the Texaco Oak service station at 12.20am and threatened the 22-year-old assistant from Meriden with a hand gun.

The attackers made him turn the lights off to the services station, which he did.

They then forced their way into the shop area and stole £80 in cash before fleeing.

The first attacker is black, aged between 20 and 30, about 5ft 7ins and medium to stocky build. He was wearing a black woolly hat and a black tracksuit and spoke with a strong Birmingham accent.

His accomplice is in his late teens or early 20s, had a light wispy moustache and blond or brown hair.

He had a mark on his neck which could have been either a scar or a tattoo and was wearing a grey or white t-shirt and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with information should call police on 024 7653 9010.
