Students Wounded By

Police
are hunting a gang of youths who set upon two Coventry University
students in separate attacks early yesterday morning.
In
the first incident in Raglan Street in Hillfields a 23-year-old
was set upon by about 15 youths aged between 17 and 18 at 2.15am.
He
was punched, hit with a bottle, kicked while on the ground and
knocked unconscious in what is thought to be an unprovoked attack.
The
student was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital and
received 15 stitches.
Minutes
later in an unconnected attack in the same street another student,
aged 19, was set upon by a group believed to be the same gang.
He
was hit in the face and needed 50 stitches at hospital.
