CRIMES, FIRES & ACCIDENTS
Pub Staff Threatened
By Armed Raiders
Masked
men with guns forced their way into a Coventry pub and stole
thousands of pounds last night.
They
are believed to have got into The Nugget in Hollyfast Road,
Coundon through a skylight at midnight.
Four
attackers, all of whom concealed their faces with scarves and
balaclavas, threatened the 28-year old licensee and three of her
staff.
Two
of the men pointed hand guns at them, and made them go into the
pub’s office.
They
made the licensee open the safe and took £2,000.
The
men then told the staff to lie on the floor and escaped. They are
believed to have left by a side entrance that led to the car park
at the front of the pub.
No-one
was hurt during the raid, but the staff were left shocked by the
ordeal.
All
the men are believed to be in their early 20s. One of them had
distinctive large brown eyes.
Witnesses
should call detectives at Little Park Street police station on 024
7653 9082.
