Man On Phone Knocked
Out By Robber
A man was knocked unconscious as he
was robbed while he stood in a Coventry street in the middle of
the night.
The victim was attacked outside the
Red Rose Restaurant in Bishop Street about 3am on Wednesday
morning.
A West Midlands police spokeswoman
said:
“He was standing outside the
restaurant talking to a friend on his mobile phone when he was
attacked. During the attack, he was knocked unconscious.”
His Motorola mobile phone, worth £30,
and £30 cash was taken from the man as he lay on the floor. The
victim was taken to hospital.
He received a black eye and grazing
to his face. He has not been able to offer a description of his
attacker. But anyone with information should call Little Park

West Midlands Police launched
Operation Safer Streets to clamp down on street robberies and
attacks.
It was first running in Birmingham,
and has been extended to the rest of the force area - there is a
website with details of people police want to take to about street
robberies.
