Man Stabbed In Throat In Coventry Street 

A man was stabbed in throat in an unprovoked attack in Coventry city centre last night.

He was set upon in Corporation Street outside the YWCA at about 7pm.

The 25-year-old victim was approached by a man of European appearance. He was in his late 20s or early 30s.

Police said that the attacker pulled out a red flick knife, and without appearing to be provoked, stabbed the vicitm’s throat.

He was taken to hospital and was today said to be in a stable condition.
