Robbers Use Guns To
Steal Cash and Vehicle
A staff member
locking up a social club was held at gunpoint by robbers who
cleared the safe and then stole his vehicle.
Two robbers
brandishing sawn-off shotguns struck at the Corpus Christi Social
Club in Langbank Avenue, Ernesford Grange.
A West Midlands
Police spokeswoman said:
“A member of
staff was locking up. He was approached by two men with sawn-off
shotguns.
“The demanded
he told them the whereabouts of the safe and they cleared the
contents of the safe.”
Just ahead of
their escape, they made the man lie on the floor then bound his
legs and arms. They made off in his VW van, later abandoned in The
Bentree, Stoke Aldermoor.
The staff member
was able to break free and then call the police. The amount of
money stolen has not been disclosed.
The robbers wore
black balaclavas, one had blue jeans and the other wore a dark
blue tracksuit. Both wore trainers at the crime scene last Tuesday
about 12.30am.
