Teenagers Use Gun In
Supermarket Sweep
Three
teenagers, one possibly as young as 13, threatened Coventry
supermarket staff with a pistol and stole cash and mobile phone
cards yesterday.
The
trio walked into the Spa supermarket in Parkhill Drive, Eastern
Green at 10.35pm brandishing the gun and a steering wheel lock.
They
forced staff to open the safe and took money and mobile phone
cards.

Julian Powell urged anyone who saw the three youths acting
suspiciously before the raid to contact officers at Little Park
Street CID on 024 7653 9010.
One
attacker is white, medium build, in his late teens and about 6ft.
he was wearing jogging bottoms, a dark hooded top, a balaclava and
gloves.
The
second is 5ft 4ins, stocky and aged about 13 or 14. He was wearing
a bright blue tracksuit top with three black stripes down the arm,
and a balaclava.
The
third is aged between 14 and 16, 5ft 7ins, and was wearing a dark
blue Nike jacket with a red tick on the back. He had blue jeans
and dirty white trainers.

Powell also appealed to anyone who has been offered a mobile phone
card to get in touch. The cards taken were for Orange, BT Cellnet,
Vodafone and One 2 One.
