Pillowcase
Found In Hunt For Robbers
A manager was
abducted after robbers raided the safe at a shop in South
Warwickshire.
And the
pillowcase used to cover his face has now been recovered by
police. It is multi-coloured with a floral design.
The 20-year-old
store manager was tied up, and the pillow case was put over his
head ahead of ride in the car by robbers.
Their haul
included £6,600 in cash, plus telephone cards worth a total of
£2,145.
The manager was
taken from the One Stop Shop in High Street,
Henley-in-Arden early on Monday morning.
He was dumped on
a motorway roundabout, at the M42-A3400 junction at Monkspath on
the edge of Solihull, about six miles from the shop. The
pillowcase was found near this scene.
The man was not
physically hurt in the abduction. A
Warwickshire police spokeswoman said on Tuesday:
“Officers
have this morning been carrying out a road check in the Henley
area between 5am and 7am speaking to passing motorists asking
them if they saw anything suspicious that could help with the
inquiry.”
They are
particularly interested in anyone who saw a white saloon vehicle
that was seen in the alleyway by the store, or later leaving the
area on the A34000 towards Birmingham.
Stratford CID are
looking for witnesses who were in the High Street area around 6am
on Monday, or anyone who has further information on the raid to
call them on 01926 415000.
