Man Suffers Brain Injury In Attack
A
homeless man suffered a brain haemorrhage after being set upon by
a thug in Coventry city centre yesterday.
The
victim, aged 43, was with a 20-year-old friend in Shelton Square
at the back of the Baker’s Oven shortly after midnight on Sunday
morning.
They
were approached by the attacker while they were near bins there.
He
set upon the pair in an unprovoked attack and kicked and punched
them.
Once
the older victim fell to the ground the attacker carried on
kicking him, before escaping.
The
victim was taken to hospital where he was found to have suffered a
brain haemorrhage and severe bruising.
His
condition was today described as “poorly but stable. His friend
was treated but later discharged.
The
attacker is white, aged 19 to 20, and about 5ft 9in, with short
straight blond hair.
He
is medium build, and was wearing a long-sleeved blue jumper,
dark-coloured jeans and Rockport-style shoes.
