Man Stabbed In Hillfields Flats Attack

A man was stabbed seven times while he was waiting for a lift in a block of flats in Hillfields last night.

He is now in hospital after the attack in Cross Street between 7.30 and 8.20pm.

A West Midlands police spokesman said:

“The 21-year-old from Coventry was waiting for a lift in the ground floor area of Unity House when he was approached by a man who attacked him.

“The victim suffered seven stab wounds from a knife to the right hand side of his chest area before the offendor ran off.”

His condition in hospital today was described as ‘stable’. 

No description of the attacker or the motive for the crime has been made public.
