Mother Knocked Unconscious
A
family is still recovering from an attack where two men forced
their way into a Coventry home and knocked a young mother
unconscious.
The
pair of attackers called at the home in Hipswell Highway, Wyken,
and asked to speak to a man called Steve. But no one of that name
lives at the house.
The
attack took place nine days ago, about 8.30pm on Sunday 23 July,
but police only revealed details today.
A
West Midlands police spokesman said:
“A
woman and her three year-old son were attacked in their own
home. A motive for the attack is yet to be established by the
police.
“The
26-year-old woman answered a knock at the door to find two men
standing there and asking if ‘Steven’ was in.
“She
told them no one called Steven lived there and they barged their
way past her. As they began searching the house she tried to
intervene when they hit her across the face.
“As
one of the offenders went upstairs, she went to follow but was
held back and hit again and was knocked unconscious
“Whilst
unconscious her son was attacked and also had cuts to his face.”
When
the woman came round, she found nothing had been stolen, and she
called the police.
The
attackers were described as white males and aged about 17.
One
was 6ft tall, wearing jeans and a Stussy woollen hat, the other
was 5ft 8in with jeans and a cap.
