Warwick Man Dies After Car Leaves A46

A Warwick man has died after his car left the A46 Kenilworth bypass on Saturday.

No other car was involved as the Metro, travelling south, left the road near the Thickthorn Island by the A452 Leamington to Kenilworth road turn.

One vehicle was involved in the crash, and there was one occupant. The dead man has been named as Gary Kennard, 41, of Hanworth Road, Warwick.

Insp David Sutcliffe of Warwickshire Police said:

“The vehicle was heading south on the A46 from Coventry towards Warwick when it left the carriageway on the nearside and collided with several trees on the road embankment.”

Inquiries into the cause of the accident are continuing and PC Herriott of the traffic department is asking witnesses to contact him on 01926 415000.
